Annie is a highly flexible champion capable of executing both aggressive burn strategies and methodical control gameplans. While her baseline kit struggles against the inflated health pools of top-tier encounters, her 6-star upgrade transforms her into a premier damage dealer.
First Turn Kill Aggro

Strategy

This aggressive setup is designed to end encounters on the first turn. By attacking with Annie and a 1-cost unit, Shock and Awe rapidly fills the stack with skills. This levels Annie up mid-combat, triggering Tempest Blade to stun the enemy board and Crownguard Inheritance to rally. The resulting sequence bypasses blockers and delivers overwhelming direct Nexus damage.
Destiny Control
  • Deck of Destiny icon
+1|+1 Power: Game Start: Create a 1 cost Wild Card in your deck for every 7 cards in your deck.
  • Searing Brilliance icon
Power: Game Start: Grant a random spell from your deck Mark of Medarda. Create 4 copies of it in your deck.
  • Emotional Support Bear icon
Power: Game Start: Shuffle 3 Tibbers into your deck. Your Tibbers cost 2 less and have +5|+5.

Strategy

Optimized for her 6-star upgrade, this build leverages Deck of Destiny to generate Wild Cards, which count as skills and are duplicated by her constellation power. Searing Brilliance provides crucial card draw and discounts, while Emotional Support Bear ensures a massive 10/10 Tibbers can be deployed for early board stabilization.
Disintegrate Engine

Strategy

This control-oriented approach focuses on abusing Annie's champion spell. Echoing Spirit reduces the cost of the fleeting Disintegrate generated by The Grand General's Counterplan to zero. This allows for consistent, free removal of large enemy threats every round, while Luden's Tempest amplifies all residual skill damage.
Budget Burn

Strategy

A highly effective setup using only rare relics. Dreadway Chase Gun provides immediate Warning Shots for burst damage, amplified by Luden's Tempest. The Grand General's Counterplan ensures Annie can be repeatedly sacrificed and replayed to generate more Warning Shots, creating a sustained burn engine.
Other Relic Options
Oath of the Guardians paired with Star Gems provides an excellent alternative win condition for difficult encounters, allowing Annie to flood the board with heavily discounted, oversized champions. Ravenous Hydra offers strong board clear potential when combined with Disintegrate. Icon of Valhir is considered a trap; Annie does not generate enough elemental damage to justify the relic slot over direct skill amplifiers. Big Guns is also a trap; Luden's Tempest is strictly superior because its aura stacks across multiple copies of the champion, whereas Big Guns only applies to the equipped unit.
Constellation
Annie's constellation upgrades significantly accelerate her gameplan, shifting her from a standard aggressive champion to a dominant combo piece. However, her early nodes scale poorly against the highest difficulty tiers.

    Review
The flat damage increase provides excellent early-game tempo but loses effectiveness against enemies with massive health pools in Nightmare adventures.

When you damage the enemy Nexus, grant the top ally in your deck +1|+1.
    Review
This upgrade is widely considered underwhelming. The additional flat damage fails to address her core survivability issues or provide the explosive scaling needed for top-tier content.

    Review
The extra mana gem is critical for her pacing, allowing for the deployment of Annie alongside another 1-cost unit or a discounted Tibbers immediately on the first turn.

    Review
Players disagree about this upgrade. Some consider it an incredibly powerful force multiplier that enables first-turn kills and massive board wipes. While others find it frustrating due to the game's hard limit on the spell stack, which frequently causes excess duplicated skills to be wasted and fizzle out.
Gameplay Tips
  • Managing the Spell Stack
When utilizing builds that generate numerous skills, carefully sequence your spells before declaring an attack. The game has a hard limit on the stack, and overfilling it will cause your crucial damage or stun skills to be deleted without resolving.
  • Bypassing Cheat-Death Mechanics
Annie's champion spell, Disintegrate, is an exceptional tool for handling enemies with revive mechanics like Tryndamere. Target a weak unit first to exhaust the passive revive, then use Disintegrate to permanently remove the primary threat.
  • Early Tibbers Deployment
If equipped with her signature relic, Tibbers becomes a 2-cost unit within her deck. Prioritize drawing and playing him on the first or second turn to establish an impenetrable defensive wall and accelerate Annie's level-up condition.
  • Sacrificial Aggression
Do not be afraid to let Annie die in combat if you have The Grand General's Counterplan equipped. Sacrificing her allows you to replay her from hand, re-triggering powerful summon effects like Dreadway Chase Gun to maintain continuous burn damage.
