Aurelion Sol

Low Investment
Rare Relics OK
Aurelion Sol is universally regarded as the pinnacle of power in Path of Champions. He is often described as a 'cheat code' or 'god mode' champion who can trivialize even the most difficult Nightmare adventures. While his overwhelming strength guarantees wins, some players find his gameplay 'boring' or lacking in novelty due to the lack of challenge.
Cosmic Speedrun
Best-in-Slot. The +1 Starting Mana is invaluable for ramping into a Turn 1 or Turn 2 Aurelion Sol drop.
Generates a created card every round to fuel his cost-reduction passive and grants items to his champion card.
Provides massive mana acceleration by dealing damage to allies on play, often allowing Aurelion Sol to be summoned immediately on Turn 1.
Strategy
This build focuses on summoning Aurelion Sol as quickly as possible—ideally on the first turn. Once he is on the board, his level-up condition is usually met instantly, clearing the enemy board and creating a state where the AI cannot recover.
Celestial Weaver
Essential for the starting mana boost to play Aurelion Sol and other expensive cards earlier.
Generates created spells to discount champions. Note that Targon spells can sometimes be situational, but the discount synergy is potent.
Summons a Husk (a created unit) on game start, providing immediate fodder for cost reduction or synergy with other powers.
Strategy
Leverages multiple sources of created cards to rapidly discount the entire hand. This build provides high consistency in reducing costs even if you don't draw Aurelion Sol immediately.
F2P / Rare Only
Grants a Rally upon leveling up. Since Aurelion Sol almost always levels up on play, this allows for an immediate game-ending attack.
Creates a copy of his champion spell (The Skies Descend) upon leveling up. Essential at 2 or 3 stars to wipe the board; less necessary at 4 stars where he gets a free spell automatically.
Extra rerolls are critical to finding powers that generate created cards (e.g., Counterfeit Copies) to accelerate your win condition.
Strategy
A highly effective budget build. The goal is to survive until you can drop Aurelion Sol, at which point he levels up, wipes the board with the free spell from Deceiver's Crest, and attacks immediately with Crownguard Inheritance.
Other Relic Options
Grants Overwhelm to allies, ensuring that your massive celestial units can push lethal damage through chump blockers.
Draws a card, providing both resources and a created card trigger.
Provides stats and keywords (Fated, Augment, Challenger) that synergize with his created card playstyle.
Adds copies of Aurelion Sol to the deck and makes his champion spell cheaper, though it can sometimes clog your hand.
Avoid 'Oath of the Guardians' and 'Guardian's Trinket'. Aurelion Sol's deck is already full of champions, and adding more dilutes your ability to draw him, which is your primary win condition.
Constellation
Aurelion Sol is unique in that his 4-star power acts as a capstone similar to a 6-star power on other champions. He is functional at 2 stars, a powerhouse at 3 stars, and virtually unbeatable at 4 stars. He does not currently have a traditional 5 or 6-star constellation path.

Astral Radiance
When you play a created card, reduce the cost of allied champions everywhere by 1. When you play a champion, level them up. You're welcome.
Cosmic Creator
+1 Starting Mana. I graciously bestow a Rare or Epic item upon all your created cards.Review
A massive consistency booster. The cost reduction on created cards allows you to cheat out high-value units much earlier.
Astral Radiance II
When you play a created card, reduce the cost of allied champions everywhere by 2. When you play a champion, level them up. You're welcome.Review
The sweet spot. At this level, Aurelion Sol can clear almost any content in the game, including Nightmare adventures. The discount on played cards snowballs games incredibly fast.
Breath of Light
When you play a unit, double it stats. If it's Aurelion Sol, The Skies Descend upon all your pathetic enemies.Review
Considered 'godlike'. It doubles the stats of all allies and grants a free cast of 'The Skies Descend' on play. This upgrade makes him the strongest champion in the game, capable of brute-forcing any mutator.
Gameplay Tips
-
Drafting Strategy: Do not draft additional champions unless they are specifically Katarina (for infinite Rally) or heavily synergistic low-cost generators. Aurelion Sol is your win condition; diluting your deck makes it harder to find him.
-
Prioritize Created Cards: Look for powers and items that generate cards (e.g., Counterfeit Copies, Blade's Edge, Emperor's Dais). These fuel his cost-reduction passive, allowing you to play him turns earlier.
-
The Mulligan: Aggressively mulligan for Aurelion Sol and low-cost card generators. If you have him in hand, the game is usually won; if not, you are stalling until you find him.
-
Countering Mutators: Aurelion Sol's level 2 power (Celestials cost 0) overrides adverse mutators like 'Created cards cost more'. However, he can struggle slightly against aggressive modifiers if he isn't summoned by Turn 2 or 3.
