Excellent (8.5/10)
High Investment Required
Epic Relics
Ekko is a high-octane champion who transforms from a consistent value engine into an unstoppable force with investment. While his base kit is fun and capable, his 6-star power elevates him to 'legend status,' allowing for stat-vomiting strategies that trivialize even the hardest content.
The Oath of Zaun
  • Oath of the Guardians icon
The definitive Best-in-Slot for a fully upgraded Ekko. Because Ekko's 6-star power doubles unit stats, the champions created by Oath enter with quadruple stats (doubled by Oath, doubled again by C6). Ekko's cost-reduction mechanics also make these massive units incredibly cheap.
  • Star Gem icon
Further reduces the cost of the champions created by Oath of the Guardians, allowing you to flood the board with leveled, quadruple-stat champions as early as Turn 1 or 2.
  • Star Gem icon
A second Star Gem maximizes the cost reduction strategy. With two Gems and Ekko's innate powers, you can often play 4+ cost champions for 0 mana.

Strategy

This build leverages the interaction between Oath's level-up/stat boost and Ekko's 6-star stat doubling. Mulligan for Ekko, play him to generate 5 powerful champions, and use his Predicts (which become free/cheap) to find and play them immediately. This setup creates a board state that few encounters can match.
Infinite Chronobreak
  • Echoing Spirit icon
Essential for combo play. It shuffles additional Ekkos into the deck, reducing the cost of his champion spell (Chronobreak/Parallel Convergence) and ensuring you never run out of gas. It also creates 3-mana copies of Ekko for easy replayability.
  • Stalker's Blade icon
Triggers a strike on summon, which immediately activates Ekko's strike effect to create a Time Trick. This fuels your hand and buffs your deck via Predict.
  • The Beast Within icon
Grants Overwhelm to the entire board. Since Ekko creates wide boards with Parallel Convergence and massive stats via Predicts, Overwhelm ensures damage connects with the Nexus.

Strategy

Focuses on cycling Ekko's champion spell and striking repeatedly. Echoing Spirit keeps your deck thick with champions and your hand full of low-cost spells, while Stalker's Blade controls the board and generates value instantly.
Striking Precision (Budget)
  • Stalker's Blade icon
Ekko's engine relies on striking to generate Time Tricks. This allows him to do so immediately upon hitting the board.
  • Stalker's Blade icon
A second blade clears two enemy units and generates two Time Tricks, instantly setting up your next few turns.
  • The Chameleon's Necklace icon
Increases the consistency of finding Ekko in the mulligan and during Predicts, creating more copies to trigger his level-up condition.

Strategy

Without Epic relics, Ekko relies on board control through summon strikes. This build aims to level Ekko quickly by generating multiple predicts immediately and keeping the enemy board clear.
Other Relic Options
  • Found Fortune icon
A viable alternative to draw cards and generate value, though it requires careful deck management to ensure you pull high-impact units.
  • The Grand General's Counterplan icon
Ensures a steady stream of Called Shots (Parallel Convergence), though Echoing Spirit is generally preferred for the cost reduction.
  • Guardian Angel icon
Useful in 'suicide' strategies where you let Ekko die to replay him for more Stalker's Blade triggers, though this is less efficient than the Oath strategy.
Constellation
Ekko is a prime example of a champion who scales exponentially with investment. While his base kit is competent, his higher star powers transform him from a combo-reliant engine into a raw power house.

Grants Sorcery (Refill Spell Mana). This is a massive quality-of-life upgrade for a spell-slinging deck, ensuring you can always cast your Time Tricks and Called Shots without sacrificing unit development.

    Review
Provides Manaflow and cost reduction mechanics. This is crucial for enabling Turn 1 plays with builds involving Oath of the Guardians or Echoing Spirit.

    Future Firepower

When you see a unit in a prediction, double its stats.
    Review
Doubles the stats of units. This is the game-changer that catapults Ekko into the top tier. It synergizes absurdly well with Oath of the Guardians (quadrupling stats) and turns his predictive buffs into massive permanent scaling.
Gameplay Tips
Predict math
When you Predict, any stat buffs applied to the chosen card are permanent and apply to all copies of that card in your deck. If you predict a card that has already been buffed, the new buffs stack on top of the old ones. This exponential growth is central to Ekko's scaling.
Managing Hand Size
Ekko creates a tremendous amount of cards (Time Tricks, Chronobreaks, created champions). Be mindful of your hand size limit (10 cards). Burning a key card like Chronobreak can end a run. Avoid taking powers that generate cards at Round Start if you are already struggling with hand space.
The Suicide Strategy
In builds running Stalker's Blade, a dead Ekko is often better than a live one. Don't be afraid to attack into blockers or let Ekko die if you have another copy in hand. Replaying him triggers his summon effects again, which is often more valuable than preserving the unit on board.
Oath Synergy
If running the Oath of the Guardians build, prioritize predicting champions. Ekko's cost reduction powers apply to created cards, meaning the Level 2 champions generated by Oath will be incredibly cheap, often costing 0 or 1 mana, while boasting doubled (or quadrupled at 6-stars) stats.
