Rare Relics OK
Jax excels at fast clears and 'stompy' gameplay. However, his performance can 'fall off' in top-end Nightmare content where his speed is blunted by massive enemy stats, and some players find his linear playstyle repetitive.
The Grandmaster (Optimal)
Essential for pushing damage. Jax's deck is comprised almost entirely of 'Weapon Master' units, meaning this relic grants Overwhelm and +1/+1 to your entire board.
The definitive core relic. Jax levels up easily mid-combat; this provides a Rally immediately upon leveling, often securing a One-Turn Kill (OTK).
Stuns the entire enemy board upon leveling up. Combined with Crownguard Inheritance, this removes all blockers for your free rally attack, ensuring lethal damage.
Strategy
This build maximizes Jax's aggressive potential. The goal is to level Jax on your attack turn (or even the opponent's) to trigger a board stun and a free Rally, ending the game instantly with Overwhelm units.
Star-Forged Voltron (Scaling)
Provides Fated, Augment, and more importantly, Overwhelm and Regeneration when empowered. Jax easily triggers Fated and Augment through his auto-equip and self-buffs.
Allows Jax to consume his support units (often disposable Weapon Masters) to grow his stats rapidly, ensuring he can survive trades and push massive damage.
Retained for the powerful Rally effect on level-up, which utilizes your massive 'Voltron' Jax to swing twice.
Strategy
A 'tall' strategy focused on making Jax a single unstoppable unit. This is effective in adventures where board-wide damage or removal is high, as Regeneration helps Jax stick to the board.
Free-to-Play Aggro
Obtainable from specific adventures. Provides the same game-winning Rally potential as in premium builds.
Grants Challenger to all allies. This allows you to remove high-threat enemies or pull blockers away from your heavy hitters.
A budget alternative to The Beast Within, ensuring your massive power stats actually hit the Nexus rather than getting chump-blocked.
Strategy
A highly effective budget build that uses Rare relics to mimic the optimal strategy: control the board with Challenger, push damage with Overwhelm, and finish with a Rally.
Other Relic Options
Boosts the stats gained from Forging equipment, accelerating Jax's growth.
Provides safety while attacking, which can be useful if you find Jax dying during trades in Nightmare adventures.
Spellshield is vital in adventures with heavy removal, as Jax is vulnerable to pings and hard removal.
Constellation
Jax is a powerhouse at 3 stars (C3) and does not strictly require higher constellations to clear most content. His Star Powers naturally forge equipment and buff units, making him efficient out of the box.

Last Light of Icathia
Allies have "Attack: Grant me +1|+0. If I am equipped, also grant my equipment +1|+0."
Relentless Assault
+1 Starting Mana. When an equipped ally dies, draw 1.
Last Light of Icathia II
Allies have "Attack: Grant me +1|+1. If I am equipped, also grant my equipment +2|+0."Review
This is his biggest spike. The ability to Forge equipment on attack and grant stats makes him extremely fast. He is fully playable and top-tier at this level.
Gameplay Tips
Manage Your Armory
Jax's star power draws a card whenever an equipped ally dies. While powerful, this can easily clog your hand with weapons and units if you aren't careful. Avoid drafting too many additional weapon-generating cards, as your deck already provides plenty.
The Ephemeral Equipment Rule
Be careful with powers like 'Stabilize' or 'Shadow Totem'. Equipment in LoR is unique; if you summon a Jax and then an Ephemeral copy of Jax, the copy will steal the equipment from the original (or vice versa), often leaving one unit 'naked' and failing to progress your level-up condition efficiently.
Beware the Ping
Despite his aggressive power, Jax and his units often have low base health. He is particularly vulnerable to 'ping' damage (1 damage effects) from enemies like Caitlyn or Ezreal. prioritize drafting health buffs or defensive items to keep your engine alive.
Support Synergy
Ornn is considered Jax's 'best friend' due to the Forge synergy. Conversely, avoid Yuumi or other 'Attach' champions, as a unit cannot hold both an Equipment and an Attachment simultaneously.
