Rare Relics OK
Lux is a top-tier Demacian champion with a highly satisfying spell-centric playstyle. While her early game can be slow without mana-generating relics or her 5-star upgrade, her ability to generate continuous rallies and lasers once she reaches 6 mana makes her incredibly powerful.
Optimal Spellslinger
Provides an essential starting mana gem and draws a card, accelerating Lux's game plan significantly.
The core engine of Lux's late-game. Once at 6 mana, doubling all spells leads to massive laser and rally generation.
Refills spell mana upon leveling up, enabling explosive turns where Lux can cast multiple high-cost spells immediately.
Strategy
This build focuses on ramping mana as quickly as possible. Lux's Incandescent Baton provides the starting mana needed to survive the early game, while Hidden Tome ensures you have the spell mana required to cast your big spells.
Once you reach 6 mana gems, Chemtech Duplicator takes over, allowing you to double every spell, instantly leveling Lux and filling your hand with Final Sparks and Golden Aegis.
Zoe Challenger
Zoe Specialized
Provides +1 starting mana, which is crucial for getting Lux onto the board faster and initiating her spell-casting engine.
Generates a Fleeting Falling Comet each round, providing a consistent supply of cheap spells to trigger Lux's spell mana refund and Final Spark generation.
Vital for doubling Lux's generated Final Sparks and other impactful spells, dramatically increasing damage and board control.
Strategy
This build is specifically tailored for the 10-star Zoe adventure. By combining Lux's Incandescent Baton for early mana, Arcane Comet for spell consistency and landmark removal, and Chemtech Duplicator to double key spells, the strategy aims to overwhelm opponents through relentless spell-casting and board clear.
Key to success is effective mana management, hand size awareness, and strategic power selection to maximize Lux's inherent strengths. Always play Lux's champion spell, 'Flash of Brilliance', as it refunds its mana cost and provides free value for triggering Lux's abilities.
Turn 1 Deployment
Reduces Lux's cost when you damage the enemy Nexus, enabling a Turn 1 deployment.
Provides the necessary starting mana to execute early combos.
Serves as the primary win condition once 6 mana is reached.
Strategy
This build leverages Lux's 4-star power, which deals damage to the enemy Nexus whenever a spell is cast. By playing a cheap spell on Turn 1, you instantly activate Plunder, reducing Lux's cost via Packed Powder and allowing her to hit the board immediately.
From there, you stall and control the board until Chemtech Duplicator activates on Turn 2 or 3, depending on your mana acceleration.
Titanic Ramp
Grants +1 starting mana if the champion is Titanic, which is crucial for Lux's slow early game.
Provides the necessary health to push Lux's stats to the Titanic threshold required by Starforged Gauntlets.
Doubles spells at 6 mana, serving as the primary win condition.
Strategy
If you do not have Lux's Incandescent Baton, this is the premier alternative for mana acceleration. Luminous Orb ensures Lux is Titanic, activating Starforged Gauntlets for the extra starting mana.
The goal remains the same: survive until turn 4 or 5, reach 6 mana, and let Chemtech Duplicator overwhelm the opponent.
Rare Spellslinger
The most important relic for Lux, doubling her spell output and rapidly generating her champion spells.
Refills spell mana at Round Start, ensuring Lux always has resources to play spells and maintain Chemtech Duplicator's activation.
Provides a reliable 6-cost spell every round that removes threats and perfectly triggers Lux's laser generation.
Strategy
A highly effective build using only rare relics, showcased for Monthly Challenges. Archangel's Staff gives you the spell mana needed to cast spells on subsequent turns. Arcane Comet guarantees you always have a 6-cost spell to cast, which is perfectly doubled by Chemtech Duplicator to obliterate enemy boards and generate multiple Final Sparks.
Other Relic Options
Her signature relic. It is highly entertaining for summoning Garen and Galio, though it can sometimes cause board space issues and is considered less optimal than pure mana ramp.
An excellent alternative to Arcane Comet, providing a constant stream of spells to trigger her abilities and ensure she stays on the board.
Keeps Lux safe while she counts down, eventually summoning her for free. Excellent for passive playstyles.
Refills spell mana upon summoning Lux, allowing you to immediately cast a spell to protect her or advance her level-up.
Players disagree about Archangel's Staff on Lux. Some consider it essential for continuous spell mana generation, while others view it as a trap because Lux natively refills her own spell mana and the relic only provides mana the turn after she is played.
Constellation
Lux's constellation upgrades transform her from a solid champion into an unstoppable spell-casting powerhouse. Her upgrades primarily focus on mana generation and spell efficiency, which are critical for her high-cost playstyle. Notably, her 3-star power was updated to only refund mana when mana is actually spent, fixing negative interactions with 0-cost spells.

Lighting the Way
Each round, the first time you spend mana to play a spell, refill spell mana up to its cost.
Pushing my Limits
+1 Starting Mana. When you play 6+ mana of spells, create a 0 cost Golden Aegis in hand.
Lighting the Way II
Each round, the first time you spend mana to play a spell, refill mana equal to its cost.
Spell Burn
When you play a spell, deal 1 to the enemy Nexus.Review
Deals 1 damage to the enemy Nexus when you cast a spell. This provides excellent chip damage and perfectly enables Plunder relics like Packed Powder for early champion deployment.
Manaflow
Game Start: Get a mana gem.Review
Grants +1 Starting Mana. This is a crucial upgrade that significantly accelerates her slow early game, allowing her to reach her 6-mana win condition much faster.
Eternal Radiance
When allies attack, create a Final Spark in hand. Your damaging spells and Skills deal 1 extra damage for each 6 mana you've spent on spells this game.Review
Final Spark becomes Burst speed, and spells/skills deal +1 damage per 6 mana spent. The Burst speed upgrade is a massive tempo increase, allowing Final Sparks to be used as combat tricks to remove blockers or instantly close out games. It also generates a laser on attack, providing immense offensive pressure.
Gameplay Tips
- Mulligan for Mana
Always hard mulligan for "Succession" (the 3-cost spell that summons a Dauntless Vanguard and grants an empty mana gem). It is the most important card in her starting deck for early acceleration.
- Avoid Spell Cost Reduction
Do not draft powers like "Glorious Evolution" or items that reduce the cost of your spells. Lux requires spending 6+ mana on spells to generate Final Sparks and Golden Aegis; making spells cheaper actively sabotages her win condition.
- Manage Hand Space
Lux generates a massive number of cards (Final Sparks, Golden Aegis, etc.). Be careful not to over-rally or cast too many spells without playing the generated cards, or you will obliterate your own win conditions due to a full hand.
- The Lissandra Matchup
Lux struggles significantly against the Lissandra adventure due to the "mana tax" on spells. Avoid using Chemtech Duplicator in this specific encounter, as doubling spells will rapidly increase their cost to unplayable levels.
- Burst Speed Lasers
Once you unlock her 6-star upgrade, Final Sparks become Burst speed. This allows you to use them as combat tricks to remove blockers after declaring an attack, pushing your units' damage directly to the Nexus.
- Gloom Anti-Synergy
If you are utilizing Overwhelm on Lux or her units, avoid the "Gloom" power. Gloom converts combat damage into negative stats, preventing Overwhelm damage from bleeding through to the enemy Nexus.
