Shen is a champion that really makes you think. As one of the most difficult champions to pilot in the game, he demands you plan ahead and play carefully. But you may find his gameplay interesting and unique precisely because it is challenging.
When played well, and with high investment, Shen has some of the most satisfying wins with mana loops and winning while blocking with his c6.
This item bugs out Kinkou tradition, making champion spells give extra mana.
Strategy
Take advantage of multiple bugs with Kinkou Tradition + Sentinels Plate while it lasts. You need Echoing Spirit to have enough Shens to mess around with his champion spell.
Tips:
- The first bug is that you gain 4 mana back whenever you play Shen's champion spell. You'd normally expect it to be 2, but you gain an extra 2 from the bug.
- Reroll for the Counterfeit Copies pity power. You gain 4 mana back whenever you Counterfeit Shen's champion spell. This gives you plenty of mana to abuse the first bug.
- This build also works on Ekko, Janna, Akshan, etc.
Insane value relic. Refilling mana every time you gain Barrier makes it possible to regenerate crazy amounts of mana. It's worth noting that this relic requires your champion to be on the board, and is NOT a power.
Doubles Shen's spells once you reach 6 mana, creating more opportunities to trigger Kinkou Tradition.

Searing Brilliance performs well before 6 mana, but Frozen Tomb with two Shens can be better at sealing the victory once you're there.
The card draw from Searing Brilliance can help make sure you never run out of cards, because at 6 mana, you can be limited by the number of cards in your hand, not by mana to play them.
Strategy
Once you hit 6 mana, Chemtech Duplicator makes Shen's 'Moral Support' Barrier Spell free. Since every other spell generates a new Moral Support, if you have enough cheap spells, you can boost Shen's stats to astronomical levels.

Nothing fancy, but many people have clearing with this setup. While this doesn't take special advantage of any of Shen's constellation bonuses, it seems popular and effective.

Together, these relics provide one extra mana on T1, letting you play Shen immediately. It's probably not worth two relic slots for +1 mana on Shen though: he wants more relic effects.
Provides one free spell per round to activate Shen's C4 strike. The keyword is a nice bonus.

Moral Support is a key part of Shen's Barrier and mana engine. Try to use 'Support' once as soon as possible to reduce this card's cost.

A very powerful and unique win condition. A common way to misplay is to Shadow Dash first, and then play the Barrier spell, often resulting in Shen striking the silenced unit. You then don't get to block, and don't get the Nexus strike. Avoid this by clicking the targeted spell on Shen first.
- Trusty Adnere on Turn 1
Trusty Adnere is a very strong turn 1 play. Attack with Trusty and its free summoned Aviarists: Trusty's strike refills mana and activates Support, letting you play your Moral Support spell too.
- Sharing is Caring with Kinkou Tradition
Sharing is Caring is an insane power, especially with the Kinkou Tradition relic. Playing a unit with Barrier refills your entire mana bar.
