Low Investment
The Poro King is a highly capable champion who excels at swarming the board and scaling units. While his baseline 3-star performance is exceptionally strong, opinions are divided on his higher constellation upgrades, with many finding his 6-star power strategically flawed and his drafting options rigid.
Heart of the Flufft (C6)
  • Spirit of the Buhru icon
Grants three keywords to each of his one cost poros, granting 3 of the 4 needed to activate his star powers.
  • Black Shield icon
Provides spellshield for the board, but even more crucially, grants the 4th 'free' keyword to activate his stat buffs every round.
  • Searing Brilliance icon
The most important spell in Poro King's deck is his poro snax. Searing Brilliance generates more of them while the cost reduction and draw lets you play more of them.

Strategy

This build focuses on maximizing the two key aspects of Poro King's gameplay: the round start stat buff if you have 4 or more keywords, and the poro snax. With the guaranteed stat buffs, and searing brilliance benefits on poro snax, this build can reliably pull off his game plan, scaling each poro into an unstoppable juggernaut.
This build is only recommended with c6, because without it, you rely on having Poro King in play to generate additional snax. Thus, With lower stars, this build can feel too slow, because it offers no ways to get Poro King in play faster.
Royal Scaling
  • Royal Nibbles icon
Significantly reduces The Poro King's cost, allowing for earlier and safer deployment. Disciple of Shadows can be used here, as well, as an inferior choice beacuse it will kill your smaller poros.
  • Spirit of the Buhru icon
Provides three of the four keywords needed to activate his stat buffs, including the incredibly useful 'overwhelm' keyword.
  • Chemtech Duplicator icon
Duplicated Poro Snax are extremely powerful, this wins the game when you reach 6 mana.

Strategy

This build is designed for when you don't have his C6, so you need Poro King in play. Chemtech duplicator in conjunction with Poro Snax can often let him heal his nexus to full hp, taking advantage of the Health Potion item included on the Poro Snax. It's okay to take massive nexus damage on the way to 6 mana gems and chemtech activated because Poro King is exceptionally good at healing it all back.
Other Relic Options
  • Perfect Hex Core icon
Generates additional keywords each round, serving as a viable alternative for early scaling if Spirit of the Buhru is unavailable.
The Poro King is highly reliant on aura-based relics that buff his units without requiring him to be on the board. Unfortunately, this makes his highly dependent on Epic relics because no rare relics provide aura-based effects.
Constellation
The Poro King boasts a formidable baseline at 3 stars, capable of clearing the game's hardest encounters with the right epic relics. However, his higher constellation upgrades are widely viewed as inefficient investments compared to other champions. They fail to address his primary weakness of early-game vulnerability and introduce mechanics that are considered unreliable or actively detrimental.

    Snaxplosion

When you play a poro, create a random Special Snax in hand or reduce its cost by 1 if you already have one. Each game, when you play your tenth Snax, transform all enemies into random poros.
    Review
This upgrade is highly controversial. The initial free Poro Snax at game start is praised as game-changing, particularly for shutting down specific encounters like Zoe by preventing her poro transformation. However, the secondary effect—transforming the board after 10 poro spells—is heavily criticized. Because transformed enemies retain their stats and items, it often acts as a detriment rather than a board wipe. A silence effect would be required to make this transformation viable.
Gameplay Tips
  • Prioritize the Swarm
Focus on filling the board with 1-cost units early in the game. The optimal strategy relies on going wide with cheap poros rather than depending on a single massive unit. The Poro King himself is often best utilized as late-game insurance rather than an early deployment.
  • Countering High-Difficulty Encounters
In challenging 10-star adventures like Zoe, success relies on a summon-heavy strategy. Aim to get at least three poros out on Turn 1 to contest the board. Do not be afraid to let them die; their deaths are an expected part of stalling until your scaling takes over.
  • Avoid Anti-Synergy Mutators
Be highly cautious of adventure mutators that counter your core mechanics. The 'Unforgiving' modifier (which prevents Nexus healing) completely shuts down The Poro King's sustain, while 'Pandora's Board' will ruin your deck's internal synergy by transforming your crucial poro units.
