Good (7/10)

Thresh is amazing low-investment champion that has several different ways to be played. He is very strong but quite tricky to pilot making some people doubt his actual strength. To win he needs only 3* but gets way more consistent at max constellation. His relic - Soul lantern is very strong but not needed to win.

The Soul-Lantern Infinite
  • Soul Lantern icon

The idea is make soul-lantern summon Thresh for 6-wide attack.

  • Star Gem icon

We need enabler that makes Thresh on board stronger than Thresh in deck.

  • Galeforce icon

Payoff to win with 6 Thresh. There are a lot of different ways: galeforce, g-orb, overwhelm, whirling blade, etc.

Strategy

This build focuses on a one-turn-kill with full board of Thresh. By making Thresh on board stronger, soul-lantern will summon Thresh, then you can get some relic to benefit from it and win (you can experiment and try to find fun combo).

Tips:

  • Draft very big support champ (Elder/Asol) to not pull it instead.
  • You NEED Thresh in deck so try to not draw all copies.
  • You can reroll for the pity power 'Allies have +1 attack' as a replacement for star-gem to get two payoff relics.
Epic Items Juggling (No Lantern)

Strategy

Very hard to play build that is surprisingly strong beating even Zoe at 3*. The idea is to sacrifice and replay Thresh again and again and win with whatever epic items you get (like rally and such).

Tips

The only 4-cost cards you should draft must be able to remove Thresh from board.

Keep in hand only Thresh and remove all the rest (especially your 4-costs).

Infinite recalls, infinite fun
  • Found Fortune icon

Draws Homecoming and enables the infinite.

  • Guardian's Orb icon

The payoff of recalling Thresh again and again.

  • Essence Theft icon

The backbone of the build. Provides the Homecoming you shuffle and draw.

Strategy

This build requires reroll for Counterfeit production. The idea is to shuffle Homecoming, draw it with Found Fortune and recall Thresh with it for an infinite (as long as they have units). Very funny but needs to cut the other 4-costs and outside of Zoe the AI runs out of units to recall.

Rares only

Strategy

Rare only build focusing on replaying Thresh and outvaluing the opponent with random cards.

The Chain Warden's Fantasy
  • Soul Lantern icon

Pulls powerful champions from the deck directly into combat, granting them Tough and Spellshield.

  • Disciple of Shadows icon

Allows Thresh to be deployed early by sacrificing allies, instantly accelerating his level-up condition.

  • Oath of the Guardians icon

Shuffles level 2 champions into the deck, providing high-value targets for Soul Lantern to summon.

Strategy

This is the optimal setup to immerse into the Thresh fantasy. Fun build but not as strong as others. Leverages Disciple of Shadows to deploy Thresh early, sacrificing units to trigger his level-up condition and 6-star power.

Oath of the Guardians shuffles powerful champions into the deck, which are then repeatedly summoned attacking by Soul Lantern, creating an overwhelming board presence.

Other Relic Options
  • Wicked Harvest icon

Amazing anti-aggro relic for when the AI goes wide (most nightmares).

  • Perfect Hex Core icon

Thresh already has most keywords so it's easy to fish and keep stuff like Elusive and Lifesteal.

  • Portal Pals icon

    Amazing synergy with Thresh 2*.

  • Succubus's Brand icon

If combined with Wicked Harvest/Disciple of Shadows you can summon husks which trigger his constellation an additional time.

  • Ranger's Command icon

Puts Scout in your c3 pool.

Constellation

Thresh's constellation upgrades pivot his playstyle heavily toward champion summoning and stat scaling. Players disagree about Thresh's design. Some consider his ability to flood the board with massive champions highly entertaining. While others find his reliance on raw stat accumulation uninspired compared to more complex mechanics.

  • Icon for Savor the Screams

    Savor the Screams

Round Start: Grant a random ally +1|+1 for each ally that died last round, as well as all their keywords.
  • Icon for Come Out and Play

    Come Out and Play

    +1 Starting Mana.
Thresh costs 1 less for each ally that has died this game.
  • Icon for Savor the Screams II

    Savor the Screams II

Round Start: Grant a random ally +1|+1 for each unit that died last round, as well as all their keywords.
    Review

Grants Deathless to support champions. This provides exceptional board stickiness and pairs perfectly with aggressive trading strategies.

  • Icon for Soul Hunt

    Soul Hunt

Game Start: Summon a Warden's Prey.
    Review

Summons a Warden's Prey on play. While it provides early board presence and fodder for sacrifice effects like Disciple of Shadows, it is generally considered an underwhelming upgrade compared to other champions' 4-star powers.

  • Icon for Manaflow

    Manaflow

Game Start: Get a mana gem.
    Review

Grants an additional Mana Gem. This is a crucial tempo upgrade that significantly accelerates Thresh's deployment, often preferred over his 4-star power for early-game consistency.

  • Icon for Dark Passage

    Dark Passage

When an ally dies, grant allied champions everywhere +1|+1.
    Review

Grants +1/+1 to champions everywhere when an ally dies. This provides massive scaling, turning Thresh into a formidable engine when combined with relics that generate Husks or shuffle additional champions into the deck.

Gameplay Tips
  • Take advantage of c3

Every keyword that hits the board will most likely be part of your recycling pool to try to put in strong keywords like lifesteal, scout and double attack.

  • Maximize the Soul Lantern Loop

To ensure Soul Lantern pulls copies of Thresh, his power must be higher than any other champion in the deck. Avoid drafting support champions with high base power, or use relics like Star Gem to artificially inflate Thresh's stats.

  • Leverage Husk Deaths

Husks generated by Succubus's Brand count as allied deaths. This rapidly accelerates Thresh's level-up condition and triggers his global constellation buffs.

  • Target Favorable Adventures

Thresh excels in the Viego adventure, as his ability to generate Spellshields and scale stats allows him to outlast Viego's removal spells. He is also highly effective in the 10-star Zoe adventure, where the enemy's full starting board facilitates sacrificing units to trigger his abilities.

  • Manage Board Space

Thresh's ability to summon multiple units can quickly clog the board. Ensure you have a way to sacrifice or trade small units to make room for the powerful champions pulled by his attack effect.

  • Utilize Deathless Mechanics

Thresh's 3-star power grants Deathless to support champions. This provides exceptional board stickiness and pairs perfectly with aggressive trading strategies.
