Vi is a polarizing champion. While capable of immense burst damage and Turn 1 wins at maximum investment, many experts find her 6-star power (C6) underwhelming or anti-synergistic with her most enjoyable playstyles. She is often described as a 'stat-check' champion who relies heavily on specific Epic or Paid relics to feel cohesive.
C6 OTK (Cease and Desist)
The core of the 6-star build. Vi's C6 buffs her in hand; this relic allows her to attack immediately upon summon, utilizing those stats to end the game instantly.
Strikes the Nexus on summon. When combined with Cease and Desist, the free attack triggers Impact multiple times and ensures the Nexus is destroyed before the opponent can react.
A second copy maximizes burst damage, ensuring a One-Turn Kill (OTK) even against high-health encounters like Lissandra.
Strategy
This build relies on Vi's 6-star power, which buffs units in hand when you play cards. By the time you summon Vi, she should be massive. Cease and Desist triggers a free attack (invulnerability during the attack), while Gatebreakers deal direct Nexus damage. This setup bypasses interaction and aims to win the moment Vi touches the board.
Strength of Stone (Formidable)
Converts Vi's star power Health buffs into Power via the Formidable keyword. This is widely considered her most consistent and 'fun' setup, making her incredibly tanky while dealing massive damage.
Provides +1 Starting Mana to ramp out Vi earlier. The secondary stats help trigger the relic's condition.
Grants +10 HP, which Strength of Stone converts into +10 damage. Also activates the Starforged Gauntlets requirement.
Strategy
This build ignores Vi's Attack stat (and arguably renders her C6 irrelevant) in favor of her Health scaling. Since her 1-star and 3-star powers grant Health to allies on card draw, Vi and her board become massive Formidable walls that hit hard and are nearly impossible to remove.
Rare Relic Control
Generates a 'Vault Breaker' (via Vi's champion spell) every turn. This provides a consistent way to trigger 'Play a card' effects, buff Vi's stats, and cycle cards.
Provides immediate board control upon summoning Vi, leveraging her naturally high stats to remove key enemy threats.
Adds Nexus pressure or finishes off the opponent once Vi is summoned with high stats.
Strategy
A accessible build that focuses on controlling the board. Use the fleeting spell from GGC to buff Vi and trigger her star powers/passives, then drop her to remove a unit and push lethal.
Other Relic Options
Allows Vi to be played much earlier by reducing her cost, though it has anti-synergy with Formidable builds that rely on unit Health.
Essential defensive tech against adventures with heavy removal (e.g., Viego, Lissandra), protecting your win condition.
A niche option for the OTK build to multiply Vi's attack during the Cease and Desist free attack.
Solid stat boost and synergy with her draw-based powers, fitting well into the Formidable build.
Constellation
Vi received a rework to her base star powers that shifted her focus toward drawing cards. While she is functional at 3 stars, her Constellation is a mixed bag: C4 is excellent QoL, but C6 is highly controversial.

Relentless Force
When you draw a card, grant your strongest ally +0|+1 and Impact.
Piltover's Finest
+1 Starting Mana. Game Start: Draw 2 cards that cost 2 or less.
Relentless Force II
When you draw a card, grant your strongest ally +0|+2 and 2 Impact.
Crush
Allies have Overwhelm.Review
Grants all allies Overwhelm. This is a massive upgrade that frees up a relic slot (no longer need Troll King's Crown or The Beast Within) and prevents Vi from being chump-blocked.
Manaflow
Game Start: Get a mana gem.
We Run These Streets
When you play a card, grant allies in hand +1|+0.Review
When you play a card, grant allies in hand +1|+0. This power is polarizing; it enables the degenerate 'Gatebreaker OTK' strategy but has anti-synergy with the 'Strength of Stone' build (which uses Health, not Attack). Many players consider this skippable if they prefer the Formidable playstyle.
Gameplay Tips
The C6 Dilemma
Vi has two distinct identity paths based on her relics. If you use Strength of Stone, you play for board presence and health scaling, effectively ignoring her C6 attack buffs. If you use Cease and Desist, you play for a Turn 1/Turn 2 OTK, relying entirely on her C6 to buff her in hand before she drops. Choose one path; mixing them is inefficient.
Relic Ordering Matters
If running the Cease and Desist build, do not place it in the bottom relic slot. Vi needs to have 10+ Attack to trigger the relic's special effect. Ensure other stat-buffing relics or powers trigger before the relic checks her stats.
Quest for the Counterplan
Vi's 2-star campaign adventure rewards The Grand General's Counterplan relic. This is one of the most versatile Rare relics in the game. Even if you don't enjoy Vi, leveling her to 2 stars to unlock this relic is a high-priority account upgrade.
Draw to Scale
Her reworked 1-star and 3-star powers grant stats (Impact and Health) when you draw cards. Prioritize powers and items that generate extra draw (e.g., 'Start of Game: Draw 2', 'Spells cost 1 less', or Farsight Alteration items) to ramp up your board's stats quickly.
